Interview

What makes you different?

Swimming has been an essential part of my life since I was a child. Over the years, I have learned that success in the pool comes not only from talent, but from discipline, consistency and a strong mindset. While most people love just racing and winning, I love the process that gets you there. The early mornings, the tough sets, the tiny improvements you barely notice at first - all of these moments make the journey meaningful for me. Each practice teaches me something new about focus, patience, and pushing my limits. That is what keeps me motivated to grow every day. I strongly believe that a positive mindset is the key to long-term success and I am ready to bring that energy to my future college team.

College goals

My goals in college are to continue improving as a competitive swimmer while also putting the same effort into my academic development. I want to train in an environment that challenges me, pushes my limits and allows me to contribute to a motivated and ambitious team. I am also excited to grow as a person by meeting new people, experiencing a different culture and learning from teammates and professors who will support and inspire me to become the best version of myself.

Why do you want to compete in college?

Competing in college is the next natural step for me, both as an athlete and as a person. It has been my dream for several years now. I want to train in an environment where the standards are high, the expectations are clear and every day challenges me to become better. The structure of college swimming fits my personality well - I enjoy having a focused routine, working toward long-term goals and being part of a team that pushes each other to improve. I also see collegeswimming as an opportunity to grow beyond the pool. It will allow me to balance intense training with meaningful academic progress, while learning from coaches and teammates who share the same ambition. The combination of competition, discipline, and personal development is exactly what motivates me to pursue swimming at the college level.

Swimming and life Goals?

My long-term goal is to compete at the highest level I can. I believe that the right training environment and coaching will help me reach my full potential and continue growing as an athlete. At the same time, I want to build a strong academic path that prepares me for a meaningful and fulfilling career. I am motivated to balance both areas, because swimming has taught me discipline, patience, and how to stay focused even when things get difficult. After graduation, I hope to continue swimming competitively while also building a career in my chosen field.

Anything else we should know?

Outside of swimming, I have always been a curious and creative person. I have completed courses in interior design and UX/UI design, participated in art exhibitions, and earned awards in national drawing competitions. I have also taken part in academic competitions in English, Bulgarian language and mathematics contests, where I placed among the top performers. Before fully committing to swimming, I ran track and field as a child, which helped me develop speed and coordination early on. I love running, going to the gym, reading and drawing. I enjoy challenging myself in different areas, and I’m always looking for new skills to learn and improve.
