Other Athletic Info
My goals for the upcoming season are to qualify for my first international competition in 400 m with an indoor time under 50 seconds. For the outdoor season, my goal is 49.50 or faster in 400 m and under 55 seconds in the hurdles. My current training focuses on maintaining speed and improving my hurdle technique, as I tend to fly a bit high.
I have competed as the captain of the high school track and field team in 2025. During season 2025 we won Sofia State and went on to Bulgarian School nationals where we finished 5th!
Since switching the disciplines, I have constantly improved my time on average 1.5 seconds per year, having the blessing to ignore injuries all my career.

Interview
What makes you different?
Through the years I have surprised many with overperforming during the important events in my life nevertheless if it comes to studying or athletics. I am different from other competitors due to my strive to constantly make myself better and never give up especially when it comes to the competitions! I think that with hard work you can achieve everything in what you believe, and I believe that the better results and successes are in front of me improving everyday. The results prove it.
Why do you want to compete in college?
As long as I can remember I have been training and competing in Track and Field. Sport has become a part of my life and a part of me. It made me disciplined and responsible. I am interested in US college sports participation, because I see it as a great path towards improvement as a person and as an athlete. US Collegiate sports system is an unique combination of opportunities to excel academically, not losing your sports focus and gives you the chance to flourish as a person. I am amazed by the possibility of working with the best coaches on the best facilities in front of an amazing audience. This ecosystem is what I have always liked and being part of it would be far beyond my wildest dreams and expectations. The competitions level in the US is also far greater than in my home country, so that really motivates me to become the best version of myself by reaching my full potential.
Track and Field and life Goals?
As an athlete I believe in my strengths to become faster and faster to reach the level that I will be constantly part of the Bulgarian National Team for the international competitions. I think that I am far away from my full athletics potential. As a person, I have very strong interests in political sciences, public affairs and international relations. As I remember, I am involved in learning and understanding the complicity of the relations in the society – historical, on national and international level.
Anything else we should know?
Thanks to my parents, care and nurture, I have grown up as an extremely responsible person and have always tried to be an example to follow. Probably it’s not curious that I have won my club’s Athlete of the Year award two years in a row and for a total of three times – not only because of the results, but as an example for the others what the results of dedication and discipline can be. I also have a passion for other sports, especially volleyball. I am part of the high school’s volleyball team, which helps me develop explosive power while having fun with friends. As someone who strives to reach my full potential, I am also interested in debating, geography and history.
College goals
The US college system offers an amazing opportunity for education that opens many doors in the future. One of my goals is to prove myself as a capable adult that can adapt to a new place with new people, while maintaining balance between my track and my educational career. As a part of a mostly homogeneous society, I was always excited to meet new people from diverse backgrounds. And I believe that being in such an environment will boost my successes as an athlete and a person.
