Other Achievements
I have always been a sports person. I started playing football in kindergarten, at the same time as I began training taekwondo. I have many accomplishments and medals from both. One of my greatest achievements was becoming a silver medalist at a European Championship in taekwondo. Later on, I decided to stop training taekwondo because I realized that my true passion was football. I also played volleyball for a while, but again, nothing compared to the passion and love I feel when I have a ball at my feet.
In addition, I have participated in history, geography, mathematics and English competitions. I have also traveled to many countries, both with the National team and for academic reasons. I have been to England, where I received a certificate for completing a course of study in English, and I also hold a certificate for participating in an Erasmus+ Exchange Programme Project in the Netherlands.
Furthermore, I speak Bulgarian and English fluently and have been studying French for two and a half years. I aim to become fluent in French and eventually learn Spanish as well. In my free time, I am always active - training in the gym, recovering, or trying different sports. I can ski, play table tennis, badminton, volleyball, basketball and pickleball, and I am open to exploring new ones.
Last but not least, I am interested in healthy eating and always follow my personal gym coach’s plan, no matter where I am. Personally, football, the gym and healthy, proper nutrition go hand in hand for building a strong, functional body that performs well - not just one that looks good.
Interview
What makes you different?
I believe I have the qualities needed to continue developing professionally. I set ambitious goals and work tirelessly to reach them. My dedication, consistency, drive for improvement set me apart and have contributed to both my personal success and my teams’ achievements. What also makes me different is the passion and the determination I put into everything I do. I always give my best, and If that is not enough, I do not give up - I keep working until I make it happen. Above all, I value teamwork, consistency, and a relentless work ethic. For my age, I have learned lessons that many of my peers haven’t. Through both wins and losses, on and off the pitch, I have gained maturity and developed valuable personal and team qualities. Another key strength of mine is my ability to read the game. My vision and understanding of it could play a crucial role in making a difference and would be a valuable asset to any team. Furthermore, I always push those around me to be better because I thrive in competitive environments. Finally, I truly believe that with discipline and determination, everything is achievable.
Why do you want to compete in college?
Women’s soccer is probably one of the most developed and competitive sports in the USA and is known for its exceptionally high standards. It has been my dream since I was seven years old to be part of a college soccer team. Competing at the collegiate level represents a unique opportunity to grow both athletically and academically, reach my full potential, and shape me as an individual on and off the field. I believe that college soccer provides the perfect environment for me – a place where sports and education work together to help me grow, learn, and achieve the level of success I strive for. Living and studying abroad would also teach me to be independent, responsible, adaptable and gain valuable life experience. I want to study and compete in college not only to expand my knowledge and receive a quality education, but also to challenge myself daily, continue improving, and prepare for my future in the best possible way.
College goals
I have many goals that will help me build the future I want. They all revolve around being part of a college community. I want to take every opportunity to gain valuable knowledge, learn meaningful lessons, and create lifelong memories – all while challenging myself to grow. My main goal is to maintain an excellent academic performance while competing at the highest level and further developing my athletic skills. I also look forward to meeting new people and build friendships with those who share the same drive and ambition, so that we can push each other to improve and succeed together. I believe that college provides the perfect environment to achieve these goals – a place where I can grow both as a student and an athlete, and make a positive impact within the community.
Soccer and life Goals?
My dream has always been to play football at the highest level, and I truly believe I have the abilities, perseverance, resilience and determination it takes to continue playing professionally. Studying at a college in the USA would give me the opportunity to pursue that dream while continuing my education abroad. One of my main life goals is not only to earn a degree but to broaden my knowledge and gain valuable experience. In soccer, I want to follow my own path, develop my skills, and make a positive impact on the team. My life goals are to build a stable future based on discipline, consistency, hard work, and continuous learning. I want to be an inspiration to my future children and make my parents proud of the person they raised. I strive to reach my full potential and become the best version of myself – both as a player and as a person. Furthermore, I want to create lifelong friendships and explore the world through soccer. This opportunity represents my desire to fully engage with life, grow and contribute meaningfully. I am committed to living a life of purpose and impact, rather than simply going through the motions.
