Interview
What makes you different?
What makes me different is my determination. When I set a goal for myself, I work hard to achieve it, even when it becomes difficult.
I also strongly believe in teamwork. I always try to bring people together, support my teammates, and do my part to help the team succeed. My experiences as a player, student leader, referee, and coach have taught me the importance of responsibility, communication, and working with others toward a common goal.
This keeps Konstantin’s original emphasis on determination and teamwork while incorporating the leadership experience documented elsewhere in his profile. His original answer specifically identifies determination and teamwork as the qualities that distinguish him.
Why do you want to compete in college?
I want to compete in college because I believe it will give me the opportunity to reach my full potential both as a soccer player and as a student.
Playing college soccer in an international and competitive environment would expose me to new experiences, different coaching methods, and new challenges. I believe this would help me develop as a player and as a person while allowing me to continue my education at the same time.
For me, college soccer is an opportunity to challenge myself, experience a new environment, and see how far I can develop in the sport.
What are your college goals?
My college goals are to succeed both academically and athletically. On the field, I want to improve my skills, contribute to my team, compete for championships, and continue developing as a player.
Academically and personally, I want to learn new things, experience a different environment, and continue developing both on and off the field.
I want to leave college as a better player, a better student, and a more experienced person.
What are your soccer and life goals?
Soccer has always been an important part of my life, and my long-term goal is to build my future around the sport.
As a player, I want to compete at the highest level I can reach, continue improving, challenge myself, and discover how far I can go.
In the future, I would also be interested in other areas of the game. Whether my career is as a player, coach, referee, or in another role within soccer, I want the sport to remain an important part of my professional life.
Is there anything else we should know?
Leadership has been an important part of my school and athletic experience. I am currently serving my second consecutive year as President of my school’s Sports Committee. I have also served on the School Committee Board for two years and as a class president for three years.
I played for my school’s soccer team for four years, which helped me develop my teamwork, discipline, and sense of responsibility.
Outside of playing, I hold a Regional Referee License in Bulgaria and have completed the UEFA Fundamentals of Grassroots Coaching qualification. These experiences have helped me develop my leadership, communication, decision-making, and understanding of the game from different perspectives.
